A new legal storm has hit Will Smith. Professional violinist Brian King Joseph, a former America’s Got Talent finalist, filed a complaint on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, in the Superior Court of California against the Bad Boys star, 57, and his company Treyball Studios Management, Inc.
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Joseph claims Smith deliberately « groomed and primed him for further sexual exploitation » after inviting him to join the tour in November 2024. The lawsuit details a « traumatic series of events » that allegedly peaked in March 2025 during a stop in Las Vegas. The musician claims he discovered evidence of a « sexual threat of violence » in his hotel room, including a handwritten note, personal items not belonging to him, medication in someone else's name.
The complaint states that after reporting the incident, Joseph was allegedly « shamed » by the management team before being terminated. He is now seeking damages for severe emotional distress, economic loss, reputational harm. This case comes as the Smith family is already facing other legal challenges, including a lawsuit against Jada Pinkett Smith filed earlier in December.
